Hydroelectric Projects

ROR Power has one fully operating run-of-river power generation facility, situated on Brandywine Creek, near Whistler, BC, with a rated capacity of 7.6 MW.Map The Company is also developing five run-of-river project clusters totaling 639 MW of potential capacity.

  • Two clusters (Upper Pitt and Mamquam), located in adjacent watersheds near Whistler, will add approximately 202 MW of installed capacity with estimated gross revenues in excess of $80 million when completed.  Bids for both the Upper Pitt and Mamquam projects were submitted in November 2008 in response to BC Hydro’s Clean Power Call.

  • Three longer-term development clusters located in central BC (the Highway 20 projects) represent over 437 MW of additional capacity.

ROR Power’s interest lies in supplying clean energy in a manner that is environmentally sound and consistent with local interests.  The company conducts environmental tests and studies to ensure that all social and environmental considerations are taken into account, prior to construction.  Management consults with local communities, including First Nations, as development plans are drafted.
