In October 2008, ROR Power proposed 27 new run-of-river projects located near Highway 20 in central BC with the formal commencement of the First Nations referrals process. This procedure involves developing impact and benefit agreements for long-term economic participation and employment initiatives for their communities. These power projects are in the early stage of development and are planned for the upper Klinaklini, Mosley and Bella Coola watersheds. The estimated total capacity of proposed facilities are show below.
Klinaklini |
117 MW |
Mosley |
96 MW |
Bella Coola |
224 MW |
| Total |
437 MW |

The combined design capacity of these proposed projects will be approximately 437 MW, with output estimated in excess of 1,544 Gwh of green energy per year -- enough power to meet the energy needs of approximately 150,000 BC homes. These project clusters, together with our nearby 60 MW Tsilhqot’in Biomass project, will utilize a common transmission line, which highlights synergies anticipated in the company’s Highway 20 power development strategy.
